Sitefinity 3.2 BETA out!

by Ivan Osmak
I am very pleased to announce that few minutes ago we have released Sitefinity 3.2 BETA. The official announcement together with known issues, installation notes and other valuable information you can find on our forums.

Sitefinity 3.2 is a very ambitious release, which you will undoubtedly see from the list of known issues, nevertheless it's packed with ton of new features and improvements, which I hope you will find useful and exciting.

Also, a careful reader may notice that we have managed to incorporate few features/fixes you've complained about in the notorious Reality Check post. So, for example, now there is a feature that enables you to add links to CMS pages in RadEditor - the lack of which annoyed Kevin Pipher...

Now that beta is out, I'll be blogging more often so... see you soon!

I am just wondering if there is anyone actually tried the Version 3.2 Beta yet. From my own experience yesterday, I just hope version 3.2 is not kind of joke because so far nothing works on the beta version. Personalizations Module -- didn't see it Newsletter Module -- can't find it Events Module -- Can't edit in the RadEditor while creating new event, same thing apply to the rest of the modules in the Beta version. Photos & Documents Module -- Can't upload images or files By the way I can't even edit template nor adding controls into the template. same thing apply to pages too. I don't know if that's way it suppose to be. Tim

After reading Filip's post, I reboot my laptop and everything seems to work. But I start to wonder why it doesn't work without reboot my computer. Anyway I will post more after I played with the beta.

Tim, I am really sorry that you've been experiencing problems with Sitefinity 3.2 beta and I am glad at the same time that you've got it working after the reboot. This being a beta release, there are still some rough edges and inevitably problems occur. Thanks for the feedback.

Filip, thanks for the feedback. We are aiming the final release for the end of the month. Most probably 29th of February, but I'll be blogging about that in the days to come.

I am looking forward to seeing the newsletter and notification modules in the version 3.2. Are they going to be added in the release? Please let me know

Ivan, I am still having problem to get google map working for event module. FYI, I am running 3.2 beta on http://localhost and I went to google site to generate the code for http://localhost. So far there is no mapping showing up on the page. Filip, any luck on the google mapping.....

Google maps works fine here. Try generate key for http://localhost/name-of-your project

hi, Great news on the release. Also I needed the 'Links to CMS pages in RadEditor' feature but unfortunately I built my own yesterday before my colleague informed me about this release :) Anyway, I have a problem - I installed, restarted my machine but everytime I try to create a project but it gives me 'Unable to create the virtual directory: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.' am I missing something, license key probably ? I tried the same on 2 machines but the same problem. Please suggest a fix for this, thanks

Congrats on the release. Looking forward to the official version. So very happy to hear of links to CMS pages from within RadEditor! Hopefully I wasn't too big of a complainer, given the direct reference in this blog post lol :) Keep up the great work Telerik!

Any update on when 3.2 will officially release?

    Hi everyone,

actually I have the same problem as Zubair.net.

Whenever I am trying to create a new project, I've got this error message

"Unable to create the virtual directory: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation."

    That's annoying...

    Any help welcomed !

    Cheers,
    K.
