    CHALLENGE
    RTL Sales Nederland wanted a new independent website to show advertising capabilities to the business-to-business market. Before the new website was developed, RTL Sales was part of the general RTL Nederland website.

    SOLUTION
    SWAT, with its many years of application and website development experience, developed the new business-to-business orientated website, which is based on the most user-friendly .NET orientated Content Management System in the market, Telerik’s Sitefinity.

    By developing a clear and comprehensive menu structure, the site visitors can quickly and easily find the desired information.  The cases are shown in a list with a summary so that the visitor can choose which case they want to see. When a case is opened, a picture or video is shown with the corresponding information. The website contains various widgets that add a dynamic feel to the website. On each page request at the homepage, another RTL presenter or actor is shown. The background of the website consists of a HTML5 video background with a fallback capabilities.

RTL Nederland entertains and informs a broad audience 24/7 on all relevant platforms. RTL Nederland's channels offer a wide variety of Dutch and foreign films, series and shows, including popular formats such as RTL Boulevard and RTL News. With its leadership in the Dutch television and radio markets, an independent news organization and its expanding role in digital media with for example RTL.nl and RTL Gemist (catch up tv), RTL Nederland is one of Holland's leading and most distinguishing media companies. RTL Nederland is a subsidiary company of RTL Group and part of the international Bertelsmann organization.

    RTL Sales Nederland, a division of RTL Nederland, wanted a distinct website, separate from that of the larger organization, to better demonstrate advertising possibilities to a B2B marketplace. RTL wanted to use a Content Management System (CMS) to make content more adaptive. In addition, the new website had to support key features such as:

    The Solution
    RTL was looking for a company to provide the total package; both the design as well as the development of its website. After a pre-selection process, SWAT was elected. With its many years of application and website development experience, SWAT developed the new website with a focus on business orientated users. It included elements such as fast and easy search capabilities for information about channel advertising and purchasing possibilities; as well as a prominent and clear case overview. 

    Cases were very important for RTL Nederland to show the Advertise possibilities in the clearest possible way. SWAT was able to meet the challenge by developing the “Multiple Link Widget” for internal and external links. 

    This widget can be dropped on any content page to provide a pre-designed block that contains relevant links to the content page. The Multiple Link Widget is dynamic so it adapts to the number of input links. Creating and registering this widget was, thanks to Sitefinity, a lot easier than before.
