      The Waterside Holiday Group was established in 1963, introducing the new luxury lodge brand in 2011 as one of the most exciting ventures yet. This latest innovation confirms the Waterside commitment to offering the highest standards of accommodation and facilities available in the holiday parks sector. In perfect harmony with their surroundings and part of a luxury lifestyle in the area, the developments are sure to become a showpiece from the area as well as for the company.
    • Challenge
      Waterside required a completely high end new microsite denoting luxury and quality. Emphasis was put on strong ‘Call To Actions’ including: call back, enquiry form and brochure request. The microsite needed to be personal and promote owner’s benefits including the new premier membership card.
    • Why Sitefinity
      Sitefinity CMS provided the perfect content management solution due to the licence being unrestrictive and cost-effective for a quality microsite, allowing web based content management from various locations. The rich, intuitive browser based user interface means easy access for staff to upload files as well as manage content online including the news module. Ease of visual customisation was crucial for this project as a high impact luxurious website was the first requirement. Search engine friendliness of the solution was also critical in this competitive market.

      Appius used Sitefinity 4.1. which had clear advantages over 3.7 for speed of implementation and ease of use for the user – this was very important for rapid ‘start up’ microsite for a new proposition. In particular adding,editing and re-naming and re-ordering pages was easier for the user to do as the business model evolved at the same time as the site was being prepared for launch. Appius integrated a Javascript promotional slider, creating a freshly changing and ‘glossy’ aspect to the homepage while retaining content management of the associated assets via Sitefinity. The nested template capability of Sitefinity 4.1 allowed the site to be created for easier site wide changes to particular items of content.

    The microsite needed to be aspirational and ‘sexy’, reflecting a slick and high end website for potential buyers. Content also needed to reflect that this Waterside site did not sell caravans, but high specification luxury lodges as part of a lifestyle and integrated with the 3 Waterside parks.

    Waterside also wanted to emphasize partnering with local businesses including sailing and golf clubs, selling the ‘package’ of a high end community experience. The site also needed to generally emphasize extensive benefits and facilities, including a premier membership card.

    The Solution

    Waterside required a proven content management solution to enable the management of a luxury microsite including a frequently updated news module.

    Sitefinity became the perfect solution due to the unrestrictive and cost-effective licence for a new ‘start up’ part of the business.
