    Hi,

    I am not sure whether or not you are aware of this, but when it comes to using a fixed width template in Sitefinity it causes problems when it comes to trying to add controls.

    I am not going to get into a semantic discussion about what screen size people should be designing their webpages for.  But I have a particular client that wants their website designed for 1024 x 768, fair enough they have paid their money....  now I am upgrading their website to Sitefinity 3.0 so they can see what it looks like and start familiarizing themselves.  Now when I set the width of my template to 968 for example when it comes to edit the page on a computer that also has a resolution of 1024 x 768 there isn't enough room for the Add Controls Div and my template.

    Now I fixed this simply by setting the z-index of the div that my template is wrapped in to -1 and that solved the problem.  I thought I would just let you know for your consideration, I am not sure if this is the best resolution but it works for me so far...

    Thanks
    Sean

    Well after saying that changing the z-index works.... I was wrong.  It works on the surface, ie it renders properly, but then it breaks the ability to be able to drag and drop controls and us the editing options of the content regions...

    So hopefully you can come up with a nice easy fix for this one.

    Thanks

    Hello Sean,

    This is a known css/html issue and we will fix it for the Release Candidate version. We are rewriting the html/css structure for this Edit Page screen.

    Temporarily you can try this
    1. Remove z-index:-1 you have added to your wrapper
    2. Add .addControls{z-index:1;}

      either to C:\Program Files\telerik\Sitefinity3.0\WebSites\YourProjectName\Admin\Common\PageEditor.css
      or just to your css file. It will affect the toolbox in Page Editor screen.
    Then you will be able to drag and drop controls in the placeholders.

    We are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience.

    Regards,
    Niki
