    Hi

    I have been looking through your user manual. Specifically for the news module. It only contains noise documentation, when I say noise I mean it contains useless information that I could figure out myself. It has no specific details on howto setup the news module or how to change the template.

    I had the new module working in RC1 and designed really well. Now you have changed around the setup and stuffed it.

    Here are my two problems:
    1. The design of the list is not working, I have copied accross my SingleNews.ascx into Sitefinity\ControlTemplates\News. But It doesnt seem to pick this up.
    2. The single news page does not work anymore. It does not pick up the articles. I have a page /news/singlenews with a single news control. When I navigate to News/SingleNews/06-00-23/brw-fast-100-powered-by-jim2.aspx it does not work.

    Can you please provide some better technical documentation on how the news module works? Then maybe I will be able to set it up.

    I fixed the design but the url rewriting is still not working correctly.

    This is what my url rewrites to:
    /07-00-30/jim2-supports-windows-vista.aspx

    This is my webconfig setup:

    <add providerName="News"

    publicationDateField="Publication_Date"

    expirationDateField="Expiration_Date"

    thumbnailUrlField="Thumbnail"

    urlRewriteFormat="[Publication_Date]/[Title].aspx"

    urlDateTimeFormat="yy-mm-dd"

    urlWhitespaceChar="-"

    newsListTemplate="~/Sitefinity/ControlTemplates/News/NewsList.ascx"

    singleNewsTemplate="~/Sitefinity/ControlTemplates/News/SingleNews.ascx"

    selectNewsDialogTemplate="~/Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/News/SelectNewsDialog.ascx"/>

    Hello Paul Berger,

    Unfortunately, it seems that there is a service problem which we already determined. This issue causes problems with the URL rewriting. The problem also appears in some cases when you set up a blog in the public part. As a workaround for now I can suggest you try to restart your application or go to the pages with the news list and single news controls and on the properties tab hit the save button. Hope this would fix the things for now.
