In my setup I am hoping to use a development server and a production server.   I am trying to figure out the best way to go about setting this up.

I plan on the development server hosting all of the administration features for Sitefinity while the production server will just host the web site (with no administration features).  My DB team is going to setup database mirroring so that the updated data will go from my development server to my production server.

    My questions are:

    1. Do I need to install all of Sitefinity on my production server or just copy certain files over?
    2. If I have to install the whole suite on my production server, what do I need to remove so that my users can not update their sites at the production server level?
    3. Have you had anyone else do this before?  If so, what problems have they experienced?

    Hello James,

Mirroring the database will do most of the job. You do not need to install Sitefinity on the production server but you need to configure the IIS properly. Also, you will need to copy any external files you have added to the staged server such as images, CSS, user controls you have created or any other resources.

To disable the administration on the production server, simply delete the Admin folder.

    Best wishes,
