    Hi.
Im a newbie with Sitefinity. I realize that when u create a new project it is created with C#. I want to be able to create the project in VB.NET.
Is this possible & how do I go about configuring this?

    Hi Thabo,

When you create a project with Sitefinity, it creates an ASP.NET Web Site. As you may know, the ASP.NET 2.0 allows you to use different languages (C#, VB.NET) in one Web Site, so there is no problem to write your code in VB.NET and you don't need to configure anything.
Perhaps you have seen some C# code in the SItefinity site admin, but you don't need to change anything there. But yet if you have some problems understanding code written in C#, you can convert it using our C# <-> VB.NET converter.

Hope this will help. Please let us know if you have additional question.

    Best wishes,

I dont have a problem with understanding C#.My actual concern is that if I use Sitefinity, I would then also have to spent time and resources converting the C# Code created by Sitefinity to VB.NET.
I think it would be nice to have an option to create a project with either C# or VB at project creation, that way one does not have to waste time converting code this will eat into the pruduction time.
Is this gonna be an issue with the final release?

    Sorry Thabo,
It seems I was not clear enough in my previous post.
The Sitefinity Web Site is not C# Language oriented and you don't need to convert anything. There is no C# or VB.NET site, there is only site.
Please let us know if there is a file somewhere in the created site, where you need to convert code from C# to VB.NET?

I see that all the automatically generated pages when creating a new project are in C#, which is fine, but projects that I dont want any C# (even in the admin) this is gonna be an issue when it comes to making the final decision on using sitefinity.
Again I think if there was an option to generate these pages in any programming langauges, it would be highly welcomed.
I hope you understand my frustration with this product even though I have heard so many wonderful testimonials about it.

    Hello Thabo,

Thank you for drawing our attention to this problem. We will consider this feature and most likely we will include it in some of the next versions.

    All the best,
