    Hi Guys,

    RC2 seems to be going great, I have been happy with the things that you got finished.  It broke most of my pluggable module but I have almost got all the fixed once I had figured out the new changes in permissions... but I think it is much more logical now.  Will there be official documentation on pluggable modules in the full release?

    I found a couple of very tiny things that need to be fixed...
    1. Any of the Add/Edit templates of the modules that inherit the Generic Content Module eg. Blogs are missing a Skin for the Editor control, if like me you removed all the Skins in the RadControls folder. Easily fixed of course by modifying the EditorConfigFile.xml but I thought I would let you know that isn't using the Sitefinity skin..
    2. Polls - very tiny one there is a spelling mistake of the word "empty" in the validation of the title it say "emty"
    That is really all from me at this stage, I will keep posting to this thread anything else I find big or small.

    Thanks
    Sean

    3. I found a small CSS issue in Firefox, with the RadEditor, the Sitefinity theme, the border around the EditArea is only at that same height as the text contained, so initially it is only 1 line heigh.  It looks fine in IE.

    4. Under the page Properties , More Options there is nothing under Add Head Tags
    5. Have optional URLs been dropped because I was using this for an existing site which I found very useful?

    Hello Sean Molam,

    Thanks a lot for opening this thread. All the issues you sent are already addressed in our bug tracking system and some of them fixed. It is really very helpful of you to let us know about every big or small Sitefinity problem.

    The add header tags as well as optional URLs have not been removed but are only available after the page is created - from the page properties tab.

    Hi Telerik,

    Thanks for enlightening me on those other bugs/me being an idiot problems... yeah I like to report these things rather than make assumptions because you know what they say about assuming.

    anyway...I am sure this is again a bug you have got in your system and have fixed but here I go:
    6. The ContentRegions in the Page Editor aren't visible thus dragging and dropping controls onto the page doesn't work, there is a work around by using the drop down and the Add button, but the drag dropping does work if there is an existing control, is this by design or a bug?

    Thanks
    Sean

    7. When adding an external page to my site there is no way of "publishing" it so that it shows in the navigation when Work Flow has been enabled.  The only way around this is to first create a normal page, publish that and then change it to an external page.

    Hi Sean Molam,

    I completely agree with you that it is better to report bug(or not a bug) rather than being uncertain of what should be the functionality behavior. Thus you are making big favour to us as we see what are our clients expectations for any feature.

    I am not able to reproduce your sixth problem. Even when adding control to an empty content placeholder I can see its border change to red indicating that I can drop the control onto it. Could you tell me how you reproduce this problem for example in the TIU site or if you could send us a project.

    Thank you for letting us know about the seventh issue. We did not suspect this behavior at all. The issue is reported and will be fixed for the official release.

    Best wishes,

    Hi Vassil,

    With 6 I am really not sure what is causing this I am thinking something to do with the website being upgraded.  It works fine in the TIU site but 2 of the projects i have created there is no content regions.

    If you look at the last project that I supplied you and get into the admin section of that and edit any of the pages in that site you should see that you can't see the ContentRegions eg if you edit the Services section you will see what I am talking about, when you delete the existing controls  you won't see the Content Regions.

    I suspect part of the problem is CSS but I am not sure what is causing the problem but using FireBug I noticed the first problem is this line:

    PageEditor.css (line 123)
    div.ZoneDesignerFull div.ZoneName {
    display:none;
    }

    Which hides the ContentRegions... anyway I am sure you could get further than I can as your CSS is stronger than mine.... but if you please look at the Project I sent you in my last support request you will hopefully see the problem I am having, I have testing in IE and Firefox so I know I am not crazy.

    The difference I can notice between my site and TIU is the ContentAreaEmpty class style is not applied to my empty content Regions for some reason, instead the class applied is ContentAreaTempt.....

    Anyway I will look again at it tomorrow with a clear head, please can you also have a look at this.

    Thanks
    Sean

    Hi Sean,

    Your placeholder is not an empty placeholder. Maybe, you have inserted controls in the template or in the master page code. In this case the placeholder in edit page mode is not visualized like an empty container. We are working on some visual hints that indicate if drop action is possible there. You will find them in the final release version.

    Hi Nike,

    As I said before, I have this problem on Multiple projects and on Multiple Templates I have checked and double checked and there are definitely no controls in my templates except for the Footer control which shouldn't be affecting the other placeholders.  I suspect it is something in one of the Tables that has something left over from the upgrades that is somehow making it think there are controls in the template but I assure you there are none.

    Ok, I then created a new template that is completely blank except a content place holder and the same thing, the place holder is given the ContentAreaTempt css class, even when editing the Template I still can't see the place holders and that is in the template editor not in page editor, so there is definitely something wrong.....

    So please can you have a look at the project from the last Support Request I sent in and you will see exactly what I am talking about!  If you need me to resend it please let me know.

    Thanks

    Hi,

    Ok I found the problem,  I use Visual Studios Format Command(Edit -> Format Document)  constantly, because I like things neat an orderly and easy to read.

    Anyway this is what is breaking the Templates, I am not sure if it you guys or Microsoft but the CMS is detecting the whitespace within a ContentPlaceHolder as a control and therefore applying the wrong style.  If at all possible could this be fixed as I am sure I am not the only person that this will affect at some stage or another.  In the mean time I hope this helps anyone else that comes across this problem.

    Kind Regards
    Sean

    Hello Sean,

    I am happy to hear that you have managed to solve this issue by yourself. Currently, we are working on automatically identification of such intervals in the placeholders. We will try to include this fix in the upcoming official version of Sitefinity 3.0 if we can't we will add to the next release.

    Thanks a lot for understanding.

    All the best,
