    Hi,

    I am having a little problem with using adding optional URLs that have  a ".html" extensions they basically don't seem to serve up the page, I just get a blank page.

    I have set up IIS to use the ISAPI filter as described in the manual, I even set up a wildcard mapping and that didn't work either.  I have done this on my localhost and on a hosting server, so I am fairly confident that it is something withing SiteFinity.

    I know the wildcard mapping works because if I use a directory path eg ~/Bars it works fine, but if I use ~/Bars.html I get a blank page, the original URL is ~/Bars/SaloonBar.aspx.  I have tried it on other pages and the same thing happens each time, is there something else I should be setting to get this to work.

    Also with Page Groups could I request that we be able to use optional URLs for these too, I mainly use the optional URLs for backward compatibility with old websites.

    Thanks
    Sean

    Hi Sean,

    Sorry for the inconvenience, this was working in RC1 but we have introduced this issue in RC2 as we changed URL handling for performance optimizations. As work around you can set the default extension to .html but this will change the extension for all automatically generated URLs.

    <cms defaultProvider="Sitefinity" pageExtension=".html">

    This will be fixed for the official release.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Bob,

    Thanks for the work around that works fine,  but if it is due to be fixed for the final release then I am sure I can just wait a few days....

    Kind Regards
    Sean
