Added new section  under News settings(NewsBackendEdit and NewsBackendInsert) in Sitefinity 6.3 backend
Added New fields (text field and Datetime field) under this new section.
Data added in Add or Edit mode of News item is saving for these fields which are added under new section.

In otherwords, fields added under new added section is not working

    Hi Shubhashini,

I would suggest that you create custom fields for News items by going to Content -> News and click on the Custom Fields for news link in the right side of the page. Here is a short demonstration video about creating custom fields for News. You can also check this article from the Sitefinity documentation for additional information.

When created this way, the custom fields will appear under the CustomFieldsSection in the the NewsBackendEdit, NewsBackendInsert and NewsBackendPreview views located in Administration -> Settings -> Advanced -> News -> Controls -> NewsBackend -> Views. A new column in the sf_news_items table in the database will also be created to store the data entered for the custom field.

If you create the custom field directly from the Administration -> Settings -> Advanced -> News -> Controls -> NewsBackend -> Views, the new custom field will appear when creating and editing the news item and you will be able to enter data for the custom field but Sitefinity will not create a column in the database to store the data and this is why the data will not be saved.
