I've created an RSS feed from a custom news provider in a Sitefinity 3.6 Hotfix site.  The feed is created and is accessible, but does not correctly format.  No matter what I select in the configuration of the RSS feed, the feed always includes the 'Full article' -- selecting 'Title only' or 'Title and summary' have no effect. Further it exposes the Username of each 'item' in the feed -- not desirable in my opinion.  Finally, the feed also exposes a link to 'Comments,' even though the source News page does not allow comments.

Having said this, I should stress that the feed and its links behave correctly in every other way.  I am looking for better control of the layout of the produced RSS.  Can I use an external template like in other modules to achieve the control I'm after?

    Thank you.

    Hi Larry Brinley,

This is a known issue with the Rss feeds. Actually, your feed is inheriting this functionality from the base implementation. We have this fixed for the upcoming Service Pack 1. We have been looking for a workaround, but could not find an easy one.

    All the best,

Thanks for the reply.  Guess I'll be 'anxiously' awaiting 3.6 SP1.

    Hi William Diaz,

This issue has been already fixed. I am unable to reproduce this issue in versions later the one mentioned in this forum thread. If you are experiencing some troubles, probably you can attach screen shots illustrating the issue and the exact Sitefinity version you are using.

I have created a sample rss feed on our on-line demo website. You can check it out and see the output:
    http://demo.sitefinity.com/Sitefinity/Admin/CmsAdmin/Services.aspx?service=RSS+Feeds
    http://demo.sitefinity.com/AboutUs/News.rss.ashx

Note that the demo site will be reset in 2 hours. If you can reproduce this behavior on the demo site you can also give us a link to observe.

    Kind regards,
    Radoslav Georgiev

I'm trying to setup an RSS for a group of my sitefinity "pages".  When I click the feed link I just get this error:

    Hello Foodsleuth,

Thank you for joining the conversation.

This error seems to be thrown from a custom Linq based module. The issue is that your Liqn querry returns an empty sequence, where as it should return null instead (if it does not find any results). You should modify your code so that it returns null instead of empty sequence if there are no matches found (for reference http://www.techdreams.org/microsoft/aspnet/fixing-linq-error-sequence-contains-no-elements-c-linq/368-20080925).

    Sincerely yours,
