I currently am using Sitefinity 3.7 and I have several blogs setup in the Modules|Blogs section. Under Modules|Blogs, I click any one of the particular blogs, and then click "Tags", so that I can view the tags for that particular blog. I see the exact tags I am expecting, no more no less. Also, I see that the number of posts displayed to the right of each tag is correct. I try the same procedure on all of the other blogs, and everything looks good: I see all the tags for *that* blog, and the number of posts for each tag matches what I would expect for *that* blog.

Now, on the blog view page I have created for one of the blogs, I have added a TagsList control. I have set ProviderName to "Blogs", set the TaggedContentUrl to the blog view page, and set the TagItemKey to "BlogTagID". When I preview the changes, I see the tags I am expecting. By default, I see the "cloud", but when I select "list", I see the tags with a number next to each. That number *should* be the number of posts for that tag *within* that particular blog. However, the number I see is the number of posts for that tag FOR ALL BLOGS. To illustrate:

    What I *should* see:
    for BlogA:
        TagA (3)
        TagB (2)
        TagC (4)
    for BlogB:
        TagA (5)
        TagB (1)
        TagC (2)
    for BlogC:
        TagA (2)
        TagB (4)
        TagC (1)

What I am seeing in a blog view page with the TagList control added:
    for BlogA:
        TagA (10)
        TagB (7)
        TagC (7)
    for BlogB:
        TagA (10)
        TagB (7)
        TagC (7)
    for BlogC:
        TagA (10)
        TagB (7)
        TagC (7)

Seems to me that the TagList control is not filtering out tags from other blogs...

Am I doing something wrong when setting up these controls?

ALSO NOTE: The CategoriesList control is also behaving the same way.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Lee DeLapp,

Thank you for using our services.

Well you are not doing something wrong. This is how the tag list control and the categories list control work. They display all tags or categories from the particular provider. There is no setting on which you can specify from which blog to display tags or categories.

For this to be functional you will have to create your custom controls that inherit from Telerik.Cms.Engine.WebControls.Tags.TagsList and Telerik.Cms.Engine.WebControls.Categories.CategoriesList and override the InitializeControls methods to load tags only from selected blog. You can use the BlogID.

    Hi guys,
I'm wondering if this functionality has worked it's way into the TagsList control in 3.7 SP4?  The functionality Lee described is exactly what we need - ie, only showing the number of tags applicable to the forum you're in.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

We have not changed the functionality of the base controls for the SP4 and you will need a custom controls.
