    I have created a custom module named playlist. I was working on it the other day and after uploading various songs when I go to click on the module page I get this error. Is there something i need to do now in order to access the page again to add more content?

    Server Error in '/' Application.

    Runtime Error

    Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

    Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

    <!-- Web.Config Configuration File --><configuration>    <system.web>        <customErrors mode="Off"/>    </system.web></configuration>

    Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

    <!-- Web.Config Configuration File --><configuration>    <system.web>        <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>    </system.web></configuration>

    Hello Laura,

    If possible disable the custom errors you have added, so that the real error message will appear. Currently there is no stack trace which shows the exact errors.

    Hi Laura,

    Please take a look at the link in my previous post. Also the notification that is thrown says " This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".
    The "Off" option of Mode attribute
    specifies that custom errors are disabled. This allows display of detailed errors.

    Hi Laura,

    In your web.config file there should be node <customErrors>

    <customErrors defaultRedirect="url"
                  mode="On|Off|RemoteOnly"
       <error statusCode="statuscode"
              redirect="url"/>
    </customErrors>

    Hi Laura,

    You need to open the physical file in development environment. The files section in Sitefinity UI does not allow you to manage files content.

    All the best,

    Hi,

    I am having a similar problem as Laura. I am using Sitefinity 3.7 but it is an instance provided to me by a web administrator. I created a template using visual developer and uploaded it. I wanted to add a SitePanelbar but when I hit preview it throws the error

    Server Error in '/Ultrasound' Application.

    Runtime Error

    Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

    <!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

    <configuration>
        <system.web>
            <customErrors mode="Off"/>
        </system.web>
    </configuration>

    Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

    <!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

            <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
        </system.web>
    </configuration>

    I do not know how to change the webconfig file? Do I just copy the generic one available online, modify it as described and upload it?

    Hello Kirthi,

    It would be good if you turn off the custom errors so the actual error will appear.

    Sincerely yours,
