    Hi,

    Prior to v3.6, if I was not yet authenticated in the CMS and browsed directly to:

    http://mycms/mypage.aspx?cmspagemode=edit

    I would be redirected to the login page like so:

    http://mycms/sitefinity/login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fmypage.aspx%3fcmspagemode%3dedit

    where after entering credentials I would go directly to the edit mode of the above page (assuming I have rights to it).

    After upgrading to v3.6, when I visit the url unauthenticated a security exception is thrown, rather than redirecting me to login (see exception below).

    Is this by design in v3.6 or a bug?

    Security Exception

    Server Error in '/' Application.

    Security Exception

    Description: The application attempted to perform an operation not allowed by the security policy.  To grant this application the required permission please contact your system administrator or change the application's trust level in the configuration file.

    Exception Details: System.Security.SecurityException: Permission denied.

    Source Error:

    The source code that generated this unhandled exception can only be shown when compiled in debug mode. To enable this, please follow one of the below steps, then request the URL:

    1. Add a "Debug=true" directive at the top of the file that generated the error. Example:

      <%@ Page Language="C#" Debug="true" %>

    or:

    2) Add the following section to the configuration file of your application:

    <configuration>
       <system.web>
           <compilation debug="true"/>
       </system.web>
    </configuration>

    Note that this second technique will cause all files within a given application to be compiled in debug mode. The first technique will cause only that particular file to be compiled in debug mode.

    Important: Running applications in debug mode does incur a memory/performance overhead. You should make sure that an application has debugging disabled before deploying into production scenario.

    Hi dimiter,

    We will try to fix this for the SP at the end of this month. Unfortunately, there is not temporary workaround that we could send you.

    All the best,

    Good morning,

    Was this issue addressed in the 3.6_1870 version released? I am using custom membership and role providers and I get this error when logged in as an administrator and trying to view content in the Pages module that my login did not specifically create.

    I just updated to the 3.6_1870 release and it does not appear to have resolved the above stated issue.

    Talk with you soon.

    Hi Kevin,

    The SP has not been released yet. The version you have is the last one - Sitefinity 3.6 hotfix. The SP will be available for downloading at the middle of April.

    Sincerely yours,

    Thanks very much Ivan. I didn't think this issue was addressed in the 3.6_1870 version as it was not listed as a fix. :)
