    Does Sitefinity use RadCompression?

If so, what version is it implemented in (I'm using 3.6). Additionally, how do you implement it?

Here's my dilemma. I have "RadControls for ASPNET AJAX Q1 2009" installed, as well as "Sitefinity 3.6". I was reading about RadCompression via http://blogs.telerik.com/toddanglin/posts/09-01-28/Optimization_Tips_RadCompression_Module.aspx and wanted to take advantage of it. I've added the 2 references in the web.config file (using IIS7), and get the feeling something is missing...

Is the Telerik.Web.UI.dll equipped for Sitefinity 3.6 by default able to accept RadCompression? Do I have to add a RadScriptManager to my Sitefinity Masterpage file?

    Some guidance please...

    Hi AntonioWells.com,

RadControls Q1 2009 will be integrated in Sitefinity 3.6 SP1. The wave planned to release the SP at the middle of April.
In Sitefinity 3.6/3.6 hotfix we use Q3 2008 SP2(2008.3.1314) which also supports RadCompression. In Sitefinity masterpages we use asp ScriptManager, which can be replace with RadScriptManager. Generally you need to add a HttpModule registration as Kevin has demonstrated in his post. Check which pipeline mode you use( if you are in Classic mode then the application use <system.web><httpHandlers>)

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Ivan,

I've Sitefinity 3.6 Standard Edition installed. I don't have any RadControls installed seperately on my machine.

I just wanted to know whether Sitefinity internally implements RadCompression by default.

    Hello Saumitra,

The RadCompression is not turned on by default, but can be used with Sitefinity. Please let me know if you want to enable it and need assistance.
