    Hi,

    I have a sitefinity installation and when i click on pages/templates I can click on 'All Templates' and it will show me all the templates in the website, but when i click on an individual template to edit it, I get a 'The Page Cannot Be Found' error. Anyone?

    Hello Beau ,

    Most probably, you haven't set ISAPI mappings for .template extension. ISAPI mappings tell the Internet Information Server how to handle processing requests. We instruct the server to pass requests with file extensions “.template” and “.rss“ should to ASP.NET for processing.

    Please check whether both .rss and .template mappings are set for your web site in IIS. You can have a look at the attached screenshots demonstrating the requirements for your project configuration. For more details about adding application mappings, see User Manual, chapter Configuring IIS.

    What are the steps to enable template editing when you host a Sitefinity site with an ISP (ultimahosts)?  From the user manual I've added the following section to the web.config but am still unable to edit and continue to get 'The Page Cannot Be Found' error when I try to edit the template.  Here's the section I added to the web.config <system.webServer><handlers> section:

    <add name="Template Handler Factory" path="*.template" verb="*" modules="IsapiModule"scriptProcessor="%windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_isapi.dll"

    resourceType="Unspecified"/>

    do I need to work with the ISP to configure something on the server hosting the app?  If so, do you have any guidance on what I should communicate to them?

    Thanks!
    Justin

    Hello Justin,

    Adding a template handler to the web.config file works for Vista only. If the OS is not Vista, you should contact your hosting company to add an ISAPI mapping for the .template extension into the IIS configuration. For more information on this matter please refer to the User Manual, title Configuring IIS.

    Hope this is helpful for you.

    All the best,
