I am having serious problems with the editor control in the latest release of the community edition. When attempting to edit a generic content control to my template I cannot see the editor in most browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Safari) and only a very narrow sliver in IE which makes it impossible to add or edit content. Has anyone else run into this issue? I can't see anything in my code or CSS that would be causing it, but its a fresh build so it seems odd that I would run into such a significant issue. Any thoughts?

    Hi Joseph,

    Thanks for contacting us.

Please confirm that you are using Sitefinity 3.5 SP 1 by following the instructions in this article. Are you using the auto installer? If so, have you made other sites on the same machine with this issue? Have you tried making Sitefinity sites on a different machine, such as a personal computer, and have had similar effects? Which version of Mozilla, Chrome and Safari are you using?

    Kind regards,
    Joe

Yes, it's the most recent community build, 3.5.1747.3. I used the blank project, not the auto installer.

All PC versions, home and work PCs:

    Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.13
    Chrome 0.2.149.30
    Firefox 3.0.4
    Safari 3.2.1

I do have builds of the standard edition functioning properly, but not community.

    Thank you, Joseph

    Hi Joseph,

Can you please send us the master page you are using, code behind file and the css styles?

I actually went back and tested it with the built in master pages and styles and get the same result. I thought there might be an issue with my work, so I just got rid of it and started from scratch with only the provided files.

Have you been able to duplicate the problem or is this somehow isolated to my environment? I've tried just about everything that I can think of. I hate to switch away from the Sitefinity framework for a pro-bono because I'm using Standard for our primary development platform.

    Hi Joseph,

We did not replicate this behavior locally. We tried it both with community and standard edition, but the problem is not observable. Perhaps we can still help you - is it possible to upload the project somewhere, and to provide us with a link where we can see this issue? We will review the styles applied and come up with suggestion.

I am evaluating the standard edition on my locdal PC (XP SP2, IIS5) and I am having the exact same problem.

I just created a project using the 'Company' template, but all I see is a sliver of screen in edit mode.  If the generic control is at the bottom of the page, every time I can scroll the to the bottom of the page so I can see the control, but when I move my mouse cursor to the control to try and click 'Edit' the page will scroll right back to the top.

I've got two sites that are doing that Sam, but I did get a third one to work, still trying to figure out what I did differently if anything. I'll post as soon as I do.

    Hello,

We still want to help with this, but we will require a live link in order to see what is going wrong. The local tests could not confirm this issue so far.

    Sincerely yours,

    Hello,
I am also experiencing this issue on the latest version of SiteFinity working from a blank page.  I have 1 page, 1 master page, and no theme set or required.

I have added a search control to the header and a generic content control to the footer.  These were made in the master page.

I am trying to add multiple generic content controls to the main section of the page.  It did not happen on the first couple of controls I added to the page - which was not isolated to a master or regular page.

So, it was working fine and then all of a sudden it started doing this.
I have a couple screenshots I can provide for the behavior.

    Hello David,

The screenshots could probably help. You can also send us your master pages, we will see what is going on locally.

    Sincerely yours,

I will upload mine now, but as previously stated, this error occurs while using even the generic masterpages provided with the build, no modifications whatsoever.

Ok, I recant. I copied the Default.master and White.css pages from the community edition blank site zip and overwrote the copies that existed and it seemingly resolved the issue. Might want to give that a try David. Re-installing the whole site several times did not have the same effect, not sure why. I'm getting the full size editor window now instead of the elements bunched up on top of each other.

    Hello Joseph,

Thank you for your follow up.
If you reinstall the Community version, the installer is not updating your old project files and the css classes. Other than that, the files from the EmptyProject.zip are taken whenever you create a new project.
