I created several categories for news articles. After thinking about it, I decided to nest one of them inside another. This is a screenshot of what I did:

    Hi andersleet,

It seems you are using NewsList control and SingleNews control in your solution. These controls are obsolete from version 3.2 SP2, and we have removed them completely from the code in 3.6. Now you are getting the errors because the code is requesting controls with the types of the above mentioned ones.

We suggest you to edit your pages in which you have these controls, and replace them all with NewsView control.

If you have any problems, do not hesitate to contact us.

    Sincerely yours,
    Stoyanka Assenova

Hi, I was unable to attach it via ticket or this thread so I am uploading it to my webserver:

As of this writing, it is going to take another 5-10 minutes before it is completely uploaded.

    Thanks!

EDIT: File is done uploading now.

    Hello andersleet,

This zip file is broken. When I try to extract it, an error appears: The archive is either in unknown format or damaged. Could you please send a new zip file with the bin folder.

Very odd, I can extract it just fine. Anyway I recreated it using WinXP's compressed folder utility rather than WinRAR and it is uploading now. It will need about 5 minutes to complete uploading.

    Thanks, and sorry for that.

    Hello andersleet,

Seems you have a NewsList control in the CommunityHome template (Pages>Templates). This is the reason for this error. As I wrote in my first post, this control is obsolete from version 3.2 SP2, and we have removed it completely from the code in 3.6.
Please try to edit the CommunityHome template and delete the NewsList control and save the in order to fix the problem.
Alternatively, you can run the following script into your database:
    delete
    from sf_CmsCtrlLinks
    where ControlID in (select ID
        from sf_WebControlBase
        where  [TYPE] like 'Telerik.News.WebControls.NewsList, Telerik.News%'

    delete
    from sf_StagedCtrlLinks
    where ControlID in (select ID
        from sf_WebControlBase
        where  [TYPE] like 'Telerik.News.WebControls.NewsList, Telerik.News%'

    delete
    from sf_CmsControlProperty
    where ControlID in (select ID
        from sf_WebControlBase
        where  [TYPE] like 'Telerik.News.WebControls.NewsList, Telerik.News%'

    delete
    from sf_CmsWebControl
    where ID in (select ID
        from sf_WebControlBase
        where  [TYPE] like 'Telerik.News.WebControls.NewsList, Telerik.News%'

    delete
    from sf_WebControlBase
    where  [TYPE] like 'Telerik.News.WebControls.NewsList, Telerik.News%'

If you have any problems, do not hesitate to contact us.

    Best wishes,
