I've got a problem that I hope someone can help me with ASAP. When I try to link to a PDF file from an e-mail, Word Doc or just copy and paste the URL into IE it appears to load but then doesn't open. If I then re-enter the URL into the URL bar (or click the link again) it comes up. I'm using IE 8; I tired in compatibility mode also. It is the same across multiple computers. Here's an example:  http://www.datacore.com/Libraries/Document_Library/SANsymphony_Datasheet.sflb.ashx

However, the links work the first time when clicked from a webpage inside of my Sitefinity site. Any thoughts?

Anybody have an idea? Not trying to be pushy, but this is central to what we do and I don't know of any other way to get support for sitefinity (and yes, we have the full, paid version).

    Hello Stos,

It is possible that there is some caching, because I am not able to replicate this issue with the latest SP. I attached a short video. Let me know if I am missing any step here.

    Kind regards,

Thanks for the reply. I watched the video and that's what I'm doing but the PDF doesn't load. What's the latest SP and how can I tell if I have it installed?

    Hello Stos,

It is Sitefinity 3.7 SP4. Please check this KB. Do you have problems with other browsers like FireFox and  Chrome?

I'm running version 3.7.2096.2:1. I tried Chrome and Firefox and they both work correctly. I've had multiple people test on IE and they all have the same problem. Here's an example: http://www.datacore.com/Libraries/Document_Library/Microsoft_Solution_Overview.sflb.ashx

    Hi Stos,

I checked the website and saw the issue, but it is possible that this is an IE problem or something caches. Can you try to use real extensions to see if this will fix the issue for you?

    Hi Ivan,
I tried the 'real extensions' thing before and after I made the changes most of the images on my website didn't show up. Would I have to re-upload everything if I use 'real extensions' or do you think I did something wrong?

    Hello Stos,

Check whether you have handler mappings for the extensions you use in IIS and you have added the real extensions in the web.config - <libraryInfo> node.

    All the best,
