Re-reading my last post, I realize I sounded a little snarky.
I'm really happy with our webpages, and most of the functionality for editing and adding content. It's slick enough.
As for the forums, though, it seems like you've got this great framework, but haven't put in the GUI stuff for the ASP-tarded guys like me who have to use the software at a very high level. Is this on someone's "I'd love to get around to this" list? Or was the intent to simply create the sandbox and let the developers/users play?
I've used and moderated forums for a decade, particularly in regards to on-line gaming communities. When you deal with people in all age ranges, from around the world, and it's through the context of a message forum, you come to realize how critical the functions I listed above are to the forum.
PHPBB2 is the standard by which I measure forums. After using/moderating them, I started setting my own up, which is saying something considering my level of internet/networking savvy.
We put our forums up today using sitefinity, and I'm very fearful that someone (or some spambot) is going to do something inappropriate and we won't have the ability to do much about it. I need to be capable of moderating a set of message boards from home without the need to get my developer involved.
