I just recently created a Sitefinity v. 3.7 site and upgraded the site to .Net 4.0 compatibility using Visual Studio 2010.  Everything seemed to be working fine until I attempted to add a Generic Content control from the Toolbox to one of my pages.

When I attempt to add a Generic Content control to my page, I get the error message "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

I checked several other toolbox controls and they are all now throwing this same error message.  I cannot figure out what could have gone wrong to cause this error message to display all of a sudden.  I cannot seem to find any logs in the App_Data folder indicating what might be causing this error message to appear.

    Please advise.

    Hi Samir,

Have you made any manual changes to the database? Can you also include an image with the stack trace, so I can have a look at the details related to the exception.

After upgrading to .Net 4.0 through Visual Studio, I had to upgrade the Telerik assemblies to .Net 4.0 using the Hotfix update for .Net 4.0.  This resolved my problem with the Toolbox controls.

    Thanks.
