    ok, Ive sent a few hours trying to figure this out, and haven't been able to find anything so I'm assuming it must be a bug somewhere.

    What is happening is that when the mouse leaves the GenericContent area it is resizing and I'm getting annoying scroll bars. also the box moves down a fraction (gap between Basic tab and box) (see attached image)

    Notes:
    I've got 2 projects set up,  its only happening to 1 of them.
    project that it works,
    * has had no changes made to it at all other than to added a new theme folder to the themes, and a new masterpage to the templates.

    project that doesn't work
    * Changed GenericContent to use external template as needed to add dynamically assigned external css files.  Fairly sure the problem was happening before this change though.
    * EditorToolsFile.xml files has been changed to add a few more options.

    I've tested in firefox and IE 8 running in compatability Mode.  It only appears to happen IE 8.

    Hello Byzza,

    Thank you for using our services.

    Could you please show us the changes you have done in the External Template, as well as the additional styles added. On the project where it does not work you can try to remove the mapping for the external template and see whether it is working OK with the built in template. From the first glance it seem that it is some issue with the additional style rules you have added.

    If it is working with the built in template then I doubt that it is a bug.

    All the best,

    Hi,

    ok, so on the project that I'm having problems with, I removed the external file and reference, I removed all Themes and left a blank theme, I changed the masterpage back to the default one (ie it should be close to original project) and I'm still having problems.

    I used IE Developer tools to look at the page styles to compare both working and not working after I did the above and the only difference I could find is this line:

    <div class="ctrlPropsGeneric" style="height: 365px;">

    the style="height: 365px;" is missing from the version that is working.

    When I look at the source of the page thought all it has is:
    <div class="ctrlPropsGeneric">

    This wold lead me to believe there is some java script putting in the 365 when it shouldn't be.

    If you still would like the project files I'll try and package them up.  but when using beyond compare (http://www.scootersoftware.com/) to compare it with the working project the only differences I found where
    * CustomPageWorkFlow.cs
    * radSpell Custom file
    * search indexes
    * log file
    * Old tempaltes and themes (non of which should be getting referenced)
    * Slight variations in editorToolsFile.xml (but I did try using the same file)
    * minor changes to web.config.

    Regards
    Byron

    Actually there are a few other differences when looking via IE Developer Tools

    not working
    <div class="ctrlPropsGeneric" style="height: 365px;">
      <div class="RadEditor WebBlue reWrapper " id="ControlEditor1_ctl01_ctl00_textEditor" style="min-width: 0px; min-height: 0px; width: 98%; height: 363px;" control="[object Object]">
      ...
      <table id="ControlEditor1_ctl01_ctl00_textEditorWrapper" style="width: 100%; table-layout: auto; height: 304px;" cellSpacing="0" cellPadding="0" jQuery1269387445733="3">

    Working
    <div class="ctrlPropsGeneric">
       <div class="RadEditor WebBlue reWrapper " id="ControlEditor1_ctl01_ctl00_textEditor" style="min-width: 749px; min-height: 276px; width: 98%; height: 360px;" control="[object Object]">
       ...
       <table id="ControlEditor1_ctl01_ctl00_textEditorWrapper" style="width: 100%; table-layout: auto; height: 276px;" cellSpacing="0" cellPadding="0" jQuery1269387609720="3">

    Hello Byzza,

    Are there any differences in the versions of Sitefinity used? You can check out how to verify this here. If for example you remove the content area CSS file from the editor it will load styles that are on the page. In this case from the page editor too. By default we provide an empty editor CSS file to avoid this. Also check the if the versions of the Telerik.Web.UI.dll are the same.

    Having a very similar issue, here is a post that I made on DNN's site trying to figure it out:

    When someone logs into a site that I'm working on using IE (I'm using IE8 and have put it into IE7 mode as well) and moves the mouse pointer over different parts of the page, a mysterious blue line appears.  It's about 4-5 px thick, horizontal, and more of a dark teal shade of blue.

    What I believe I have narrowed it down to are the following common traits:

    • Example full tag::
      • <div class="Normal" id="dnn_ctr1590_HtmlModule_lblContent _events="[object Object]" control="[object Object]">
    • Everywhere this blue line appears, the tag always contains the function calls: _events="[object Object]" control="[object Object]"
      • *Note that these two function calls ONLY appear in IE in the generated HTML.  NEVER do they show up in FF, Chrome, or Safari
    • These calls ONLY show up after someone has logged in. Meaning, of course, that just browsing to the site and not logging in, you will NEVER see the blue line show up anywhere.
    • The blue line shows up everywhere when logged in as an admin
    • The blue line shows up here and there (seemingly randomly) when logged into a role other than admin
      • Sometimes the function calls show up, sometimes they don't.  So, get this, when the calls DO show up (and thus the blue line will appear when you mouse over the tag on the page containing the calls) you can F5 the page (or otherwise refresh) and the calls disappear out of the tag and the blue line doesn't show up anymore.

    So, the questions:

    • Does anyone know why this blue line appears?
    • Why are the function calls inserted into these tags? And how are they put there? Why only in IE?
    • Why do the calls randomly show up in tags when not logged in as an admin?
    • How on earth do you get rid of this problem and fix the issue?? :S

    Hello IFx,

    There must be something with a control you use on this page, you have some js script or something in your master page that causes such issues.

    Thanks for your reply, Ivan.  The other day I actually narrowed it down to three files containing something within them that is causing this.  I've isolated my search down to just one file, dnn.controls.dnnlabeledit.js, because the other two also disabled some other things.  I'm trying to break it down even more from there, but so far it seems to be in the code around:

    if

    (this.eventName != 'none'

        this.addHandlers(o, this.getDynamicEventObject(this._getEventName(this.eventName), this.performEdit), this);

    if (this.toolbarId.length > 0)

        this.addHandlers(o, this.getDynamicEventObject(this._getEventName(this.toolbarEventName), this.showToolBar), this);

    this.addHandlers(o, { 'mousemove': this.mouseMove, 'mouseout': this.mouseOut }, this);

    I'm still looking into, but if you know of anything helpful, it would be greatly appreciated.  My JavaScript isn't all that great, so I'm doing what I can to understand what's going on here.
