I have themes and templates that we have created here, and I removed the default themes from App_Themes.  I only wanted the content administrator to be able to use the themes created for their site.  However, after doing this none of the images on the site display anymore.  I am seeing the ALT text on all of the images instead of the images themselves.

Do you have any idea why removing Themes that were not in use would cause this strange side-effect?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello Sheridan,

Unfortunately we could not reproduce this behavior. Could you please be more specific about which images exactly are not displaying? Like were they in a library, the file system or css; were they placed in the Image control? It would be very useful if you could provide us with steps to reproduce this problem.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

I have an images folder in the root of the Sitefinity website (at the same level as App_Master) where all of our custom images are stored.  In the masterpage I was using <img src="~/images/..."

I still don't understand why, but the path was being resolved before I deleted the themes, and was not being resolved afterwards (I looked at the site, deleted the default themes, and then looked at the site again and the images were gone).

Since then I have replaced all of these tags with <asp:Image tags and it is working again.

    Thanks
    Sheridan

    Hi Sheridan,

You can use tilde sign (~) in resource paths only if the control is executed on server side, this is if it has runat="server" attribute. Most probably your <img..> tags missed somehow this attribute. The <asp:Image> is aserver control, that's why the images' path is resolved.

We are glad the problem is fixed.

    All the best,
    Georgi
