We use Sitefinity for all of our clients, and I am having a problem with one of them on 3.6.  When they create a link on a page, and use the Sitefinity interface to link the word(s) to a page within the site, it works fine.  But when they come back to the page later, and edit something else, when they save and publish the page, it's changing the links automatically and breaking them.  It happens almost every time.

    For example:

It will change a link like this:  http://www.domainname.org/Advisors/MembershipInfo/Conference.aspx

And turn it into this:  http://www.acaplanners.org/Advisors/Advisors/MembershipInfo/Conference.aspx

Notice the extra "Advisors" in the URL.  If you re-link the page it will fix it, but the next time you come back to the page to edit something, it breaks again.

Does anybody have any idea what could be happening, or what additional information I could provide to help investigate this issue?

    Thanks,
    Orion

    Hi Orion,

We had similar problems with the parser in Sitefinity 3.6. We managed to fix them in 3.6 SP2 and 3.7. If possible upgrade the projects to the last official release. The problem was related to the link parser an we could not provide workaround due to some private methods.

    Sincerely yours,

That's wonderful news!  Where can I find the newest instructions for upgrading?  The last time my developer did it, he was upgrading 3.2 to 3.5, and when it came to updating the web.config file, the process got a little complicated.  It literally took him almost a day to get everything upgraded and working properly.

    Thanks,
    Orion
