    Hello vinamra,

Do you have trace enabled? Sometimes the trace gets the control IDs before they have been properly assigned and throws errors like this. Also make sure that your control template does not contain controls with the same IDs.

    hi

actually the problem was due to
    <sfWeb:HeaderLinks ID="headerLinks" runat="server" />

    in both Control templates

i commented from 1 control template and wola it worked.

    thanks
    Vinamra

    Hi,

I'm having virtually the same error.

Currently there is 2 BlogPosts controls on the page, which is causing the error mentioned above. Removing 1 of the controls fixes the error, but we need both to be displayed.

I tried the fix mentioned above (commenting out the <sfWeb:HeaderLinks id="headerLinks1" runat="server" /> line), however that did not work.

Any ideas on how to fix this? We just switched our site to .NET 4.0, and this was working before.

    Thanks,
    Paul

    Hi Paul N,

Have you tried to change the problematic controls ID property?

    Hi Ivan,

I've tried changing the "headerLinks1" ID, which didnt work, one of the BlogPosts controls is using a custom template, which is what I changed the ID for, the other control has no template set (uses the default template).

Is there any other ID's that I could change?

    Thanks,
    Paul
