    Hi, while opening the newsletter module we get:

    A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond "IP XXXX"

    Ok, nut very nice. I know the dll problem of deleting dynamic dll from service assembly directory.

    Problem 1: The new dll is not generated.
    Problem 2: It seems the adress of the webservice is not correct. My irst solution is to chnage the webservice (asmx) adress but I can not find any configuration for this.

    Is there a chance to configure the webservice endpoints?

    thanks

    Hi Christian,

    The error seems to be related to your SMTP settings. It seems that your SMTP server is not accessible - wrong IP address, username or password. Please verify that your settings are correct. For instance create a user control and send an email.

    System.Net.Mail.MailMessage message = new System.Net.Mail.MailMessage();
    message.To.Add("yourmail@test.com");
    message.Subject = "Subject";
    message.From = new System.Net.Mail.MailAddress("mytestmail@test.com");
    message.Body = "This is the message body";
    // 25 is the default port
    int port = 25;
    System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient smtp = new System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient("YOUR_HOST_HERE", port);
    smtp.Send(message);

    Kind regards,
    Ivan Dimitrov

    hi, don´t think so. smtp settings are correct.

    The problem comes up while opening the newsletter module itself, not while sending... I have no chance to open the whole module.

    Hi Christian,

    Thank you for the follow up.
    Yes it seems that the problem is not related to the SMTP server.

    If the assembly is not generated, this means that
    - The request does not reach the web service or
    - you are working in medium trust, while the generation could be done in full trust only

    Why do you think that the web service address is not correct? Do you use any kind of proxies/firewalls which might be stopping the connection? You can define the web service address in the web.config file:
    <notifications defaultProvider="Notifications" mailingServiceWsdl="~/define-the-path-here">
          <providers>
            <clear />
            <add name="Notifications" type="Telerik.Notifications.Data.DefaultProvider, Telerik.Notifications.Data"
                  connectionStringName="DefaultConnection" EnableSsl="false" MergedFields="FirstName;LastName" SendingInterval="1000" />
          </providers>
        </notifications>

    Add the mailingServiceWsdl property to the <notifications...> section.

    Let me know about the results.

    Sincerely yours,
    Georgi
