    Hi,
Not able to upload, stack trace message (Please see the attached below) keeps appearing when I am in the Admin end. I was uploading some jpgs and kept on getting this message in the middle of the upload. When I click OK, my file upload cancels and I have to do it again.... but then the message would appear again. So no file uploading was possible...

I've tried many times and I got the Stack Trace Error on:
    • IE 6, 7, and 8
    • Firefox
    • On three different machines
    • On the network and off the network
    • We are running Windows XP SP3

    Any ideas about this?
    Thank you very much!

    Hi li,

Thank you for using our services.

The error does not seem to be thrown when items are uploaded. It rather seems that it is being thrown when you are trying to view the items uploaded or view files already in the libraries. I would ask you to do the following:

    1) Create a back-up of your database.
    2) If you are using external templates revert to the built in ones.
    3) Try inspecting each of the items uploaded in this library, if there are any problems with an Item remove it.
    4) If this does not help try removing all items from the images and documents module (from the stack trace it seems that there is an item which is corrupted). You will have a db backup to restore the previous items if needed.
    5) Check if you have added custom metafields and try working without them.

    Sincerely yours,

    Hi,
I have the same issue. The files in the document libraries still exist but it seems like the query is unable to show the files to me on the screen when I open the library. Is there another way to look at or get to the files in the library so I determine which one(s) might be corrupted? Second question is: What can I do to prevent this from happening in the future?
    Thanks.

    Hi Mary-Joyce,

The reasons for this behavior are generally

    1. Url Rewriting
    2. Web service is blocked
    3. You have changed the web service - passing not valid values as parameters.
    5. You have images/documents that have some invalid metakey values.

The problem is that the web service cannot process its GetContentItems method ( Sitefinity\Admin\Services\ContentService.asmx.)

OK. Do you know another way I can get to the files then?

    Hi Mary-Joyce,

You will not be able to see any items  from this view, because there is no data returned from the web service.

    1. Try to set up the project on another server - localhost
    2. Observe the flowing tables

    sf_GCMetaData
    sf_CmsContentBase

where Application is "/Libraries" to see if there are discrepancies.

    Kind regards,
    Ivan Dimitrov

    Hi again,
Unfortunately, I'm not a developer. I work with a contractor on the project but they are unable to resolve this issue for us - that's why I am coming to this forum myself. I am interested in hiring a Sitefinity expert to resolve this, do you offer this kind of contract/service? Thanks!
