    Hi there,

    Anyone out there running Sitefinity 3.7 on Oracle 10g?

    We have a three server cluster for the front end pulling data from Oracle 10 g and each night at around 1:15am we get the following error logged in the event log and it's specific to the one Sitefinity application running on those machines:

    ORA-03135: connection lost contact

    In the stack trace it seems to originate from a connection that the application is trying to open when accessing either one of the Media pages or the CMSEntry.aspx page. Of course Nolics is part of the mix as well and I've never been comfortable with the idea of a generic all purpose DB layer such as Nolics.

    Any ideas?

    Regards,
    Jacques

    Hi J.Hoventer,

    This error is thrown when the server has been terminated, was forced to terminate or the server timed out the connection. You should check if the server session was terminated and whether timeout parameters are set properly in sqlnet.ora. Check if you have firewall issues or whether something cleans TCP idle connections.

    Check the timeout parameters in sqlnet.ora and especially sqlnet.expire_time, which value you could set to 1 or 10. Modify
    SQLNET.INBOUND_CONNECT_TIMEOUT = 300
    SQLNET.SEND_TIMEOUT = 300
    SQLNET.RECV_TIMEOUT = 300

    Hi Ivan,

    These errors have only started occurring recently and there have been no changes to the configuration of the application or the connection to Oracle.

    It's also only happening with the one Sitefinity application, the other two aren't throwing these exceptions.

    This application is in its own application pool and the worker processes are set to recycle at midnight only.
    The only other events occurring anywhere near these events are those associated with WebTrends.

    Regards,
    Jacques
