    Hi, I'm trying to insert a flash file into a web page but when I try and locate the file in the Flash directory using the Flash insert tool I get the following error and no files appear. The files are definately there.

    I'm using version 3.2

    Error Message:

    Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException: The message received from the server could not be parsed. Common causes for this error are when the response is modified by calls to Response.Write(), response filters, HttpModules, or server trace is enabled.
    Details: Error parsing near 'FileLister1_Panel1II<html>
             <head>
    '.

    Hello Jack,

    The error seems server-configuration specific. We found out that different workarounds worked for different people. We think this is an Ajax issue, which is also related to the ASP.NET RoleManagerModule http module (you can see the actual exception in the ~/App_Data/sitefinity.log file).
    Here is the workaround. Set cacheRolesInCookie attribute of the system.web/roleManager to false in the web.config:

    <roleManager enabled="true" cacheRolesInCookie="false" defaultProvider="Sitefinity">

    Thanks for the quick response - can you tell me where exactly I need to make that change (i.e. in what file).

    I'm not sure where to find system.web/roleManager

    Hello Jack,

    You should modify project web.config file which is located in the root of your application.

    Best wishes,
