When I try to insert a link to a document in a generic content control using the "Insert a document" button in the editor the link never appears.

    Steps:
    1. Click in the editor where I want the document link to appear
    2. Click "Insert a document"
    3. Insert document dialog appears, click "Select from already uploaded documents"
    4. Browse to document
    5. Click on document
    6. Click "I'm Done"
    7. Fill in "What should the link say?"
    8. Click "Insert"

No link ever appears, even after publishing the page. It doesn't matter if I highlight text before step 2 or just choose an empty spot.

    Hello Michael Risser,

Thank you for using our services.

Can you please let us know which version of Sitefinity are you using? We have tried to reproduce the behavior that you are describing however to no avail. I have attached a screen cast showing the correct behavior. Can you go to our demo site - Sitefinity Demo enter the CMS section and see if you can reproduce it there?

    Looking forward to your response.

    All the best,

    Hi Radoslev,

Thank you for your response. I'm using v.3.7 Community. The steps shown in the video are exactly the ones I followed, only with me no link was inserted.

Update: I tried it in a blank Generic Content Control and all worked well, went back to the one I was having trouble with and still having trouble.

Update 2: OK, I tracked down the problem. I had designed the content in an external editor and copied it into the control because I needed some custom HTML, in that HTML I had wrapped some items in empty anchor tags thinking I may have to hand code the links. The editor did not remove the empty anchor tags, which was causing the insert document to not work.

Here is the resulting HTML from the RadEditor when trying to remove the empty anchor tags and associated text

    <li><a><br />
        </a></li
