I have a feeling thatt his issue is related to the work that I'm doing on building a pluggable module for a knowledgebase, but I didn't want to clutter that thread with what might be an unrelated issue...

but the only thing that has changed (as far as I can tell) is that I implemented the new module. How would that affect the performance of sitefinity as a whole? Now, whenever I make changes to a page, and click Publish, the page hangs and hangs and hangs. I've left it for over 30 minutes and it's not doing anything. However, I know that it has completed because if I load a new window I can navigate to the admin panel and check the changes and they were indeed saved.

Is there any way I could have interfered with the core functionality by making a module? any ideas of where I might look first to resolve this?

    thanks

    Hi Josh,

Do you have any custom code which executes on PagePublish event handler? Or, do you have a search index with the AutoIndex option set?
Most probably, it is the second reason, as we have had similar issues with the Search module in v3.2 SP1. We already addressed them, so a fix will be included in the upcoming SP2 (due by the end of the month)
However, it will be better if you send us your project, so we could investigate it locally.

I don't have any custom code running during publish but I think it might be the search because I notice when I connect from another site that uses the same database, but doesn't have the same search options set it doesn't hang on publish.

hopefully this will resolve itself with the new sp, but thank you for taking an interest in helping me. I'll report back after the new sp is installed.

    thanks!
