This is a minor, but annoying, issue.  I changed the Feed URL on an RSS feed as part of some testing I was doing.  When I went to change it back I received the message:

        The Url is already taken.

I've tried deleting and recreating the RSS feed, but no luck there.  I know for a fact the URL in question was not used  by anything except this RSS feed.  How can I recover this now unusable URL?

    Thanks
    Sheridan

    Hi Sheridan,

Could you provide us with the exact steps in order to reproduce the problem? We have tried to replicate it, but were not able to.
Thank you for your cooperation in advance!

Here are the steps I used.

    1. Create an RSS feed with feed name News and feed description News.  Select content News and select a specific category (I selected a category called "News" which refers to general News instead of something like a Press Release).  Finally, set the feed URL to ~/news.rss and save.

    2. Click "Edit this feed" on the feed you've just created.  Change the feed URL to ~/rss/news.rss.  Save changes.

    3. Click "Edit this feed" on the same feed.  Change the feed URL back to ~/news.rss.  Hit Save Changes.

At this point I get a red bar at the top of the page that says "The Url is already taken." and I am unable to save.

    Hi Sheridan,

Thanks a lot for the detailed explanation. We have replicated the problem. As a workaround you can run the following SQL script on your database (it is extremely important to BACK UP your database before executing the script):

    UPDATE   sf_RssFeeds
    SET       Url = '~/myRssUrl.rss'
    WHERE    (Name = 'MyFeedName'

Please note that you must replace ~/myRssUrl.rss and MyFeedName with the real values.

This issue is already logged in our bug tracking system and will be fixed as soon as possible.
As a note of gratitude your Telerik account has been updated.

    Sincerely yours,

I've reproduced this in 3.7 SP1.  Has this been fixed?
