The search module seems to be very buggy for me, i.e. you create an index and choose "Start indexing" yet the results on the indexing only ever returns X words and Y pages, where X is equal to Y.

    The settings I have are:

        What to index?
    PageIndex
    - Auto index: True
    - Index non-public pages: False
    - Starting node URL: All Pages

So basically if you have 100 pages, then choose "Start indexing" it will find 100 words and 100 pages, which is obviously not right is it?

But then if you were to "Edit" and then "Publish" a page (even without changing the pages content), it will index that pages content and add it into the index... so you'd end up with something like 500 indexed words and 100 indexed pages.

Any ideas on a fix, or a temporary workaround that doesn't involve me going through > 100 pages and hitting edit then publish, just to have them indexed?

    Hello Christopher,

The result "..X is equal to Y.." means that the indexer didn't receive any data and actually it has only the URL. This happens if something went wrong when requesting the page to be indexed.

Could please send us your sitefinity.log so we can examine the exceptions thrown by the Indexing Service.

    Best wishes,
