    Hello Matt Palmer,

Looking at the stack trace, we see that there is an attempt for database upgrade to the current version. Could you please check the following:
    1. If you have another project attached to the same database, please upgrade it as well. The database is automatically upgraded/downgraded depending on the project version attached to it.
    2. If you have performed an upgrade recently, and this is the first time you upload a document to the Images and Documents module, please run the project in full trust, and upload the document again. After this procedure, you should be able to upload documents in medium trust (on a live server) as well.

    Hope this helps.

    Kind regards,
    Georgi

    This is the first upload.

    1. This is the only project using this database. I'm not sure what you mean by project version, is there somewhere I can check this and see what is going on?

    2. I'm running the site in VS2008's web server. I've configured NETWORK SERVICE and ASPNET to have full control over the directory. I'm not sure how VS2008 on localhost corresponds to full or medium trust. The DB user for the connection string is in the db_datareader and db_datawriter roles - does it need other permissions?

    Thanks

I added the db user to role db_owner and tried uploading again and it worked. I removed the role for subsequent uploads and they seem to work too. Thanks.

It would be really helpful to add this to your documentation, since the only other information I found on this error was from a thread that is no longer available.

    Hi Matt Palmer,

    Thank you for your feedback.
It seems that the upgrade stored procedure cannot be executed when the user is not in the db_owner role. Yes, we require this in order to upgrade the database (since the schema might be changed as well, and the db_owner has these rights).

We will see where to add this help topic.

Thank you once again for the follow up!

    Kind regards,
    Georgi
