I just uploaded a brand new version of Sitefinity 3.7 SP3 to the server and connected it to my database.

I can login and all my pages apper however when I try to go to images and documents and click on a picture I get this error.

    Description:
An error occurred during the parsing of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific parse error details and modify your source file appropriately.

Parser Error Message: Could not load file or assembly 'Telerik.Workflow' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

    Source Error:

    Line 1: <%@ Control Language="C#" %>
    Line 2: <%@ Register TagPrefix="telerik" Namespace="Telerik.Workflow.WebControls" Assembly="Telerik.Workflow" %>Line 3: <%@ Register TagPrefix="telerik" Namespace="Telerik.Cms.Engine.WebControls" Assembly="Telerik.Cms.Engine" %>
    Line 4: <%@ Register TagPrefix="telerik" Namespace="Telerik.Localization.WebControls" Assembly="Telerik.Localization" %>

    Source File: /Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/Libraries/LibraryItemPreview.ascx    Line: 2

Assembly Load Trace: The following information can be helpful to determine why the assembly 'Telerik.Workflow' could not be loaded.

WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF.
To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.
Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging.
To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog].

Any help is greatly appreciated.  This is happening on multiple sites with different databases all on 3.7 SP3.

    Hello bleutiger,

Make sure that you have Telerik.Workflow.dll in your bin folder .Check the project references and check your GAC to see what version is listed there. Make sure that you do not have any custom assemblies referencing to this version of Telerik.Workflow.dll in your project. For example you might have a custom module referencing the old Telerik.Workflow.dll assembly in your bin folder. In this case you have to rebuild your custom module referencing it to the current version of Telerik.Workflow.dll which you use.

Note that Sitefinity 3.7 SP3 comes with Telerik.Workflow.dll version 3.7.2096, so you project should reference this version and you must have this dll in your bin folder.

    All the best,

I don't seem to have the Telerik.workflow dll anywhere in the downloads.

These are all fresh downloads of Sitefinity 3.7 SP3 .NET 2.0.  I have added the external templates and that is all I have done to change things.

Is that dll embedded in another dll?  Could it be missing from the latest release for some reason?

This is the community edition also...if that matters.

    Hello bleutiger,

The dll does not exists in the Community edition. I checked the builds that we have shipped for Sitefinity SP3 builds 2.0 and 3.5 and Telerik.Workflow.dll is in the bin folder.

    huh...???

You say that it doesn't exist in the community edition.  I completely understand that considering there is no workflow function in community edition.

But then you say "I checked the builds that we have shipped for Sitefinity SP3 builds 2.0 and 3.5 and Telerik.Workflow.dll is in the bin folder".

I can only assume that that is in the standard edition.

So we are back to square one.  So let me start over...

I downloaded Sitefinity 3.7 SP3 community edition Net 2.0 Blank project and Sitefinity Community Edition 3.7 Net 2.0 external templates.  (I have actually done this 3 times)

I uploaded them to my server and connected the site to my DB.  All of my pages render fine but some of the images in the Image libraries are not appearing on the page.

When I go to the Images and Documents module I can see the images but if I try to click on one or click the edit command  I get the error above. or an error that references "Telerik.Localization" respectively.

This happens for both of the sites that I currently have running the 3.7 community edition on.  It appears as if there is something in the community edition that should not be there because it is referencing a dll that does not exist in the community edition.

    Hi bleutiger,

Ok, I got it now. It is a bug in the version of the external templates that have been uploaded. You are absolutely right. To fix the issue immediately remove all reference to the Telerik.Workflow.dll.

remove the following lines from LibraryItemPreview.ascx

    • <%@ Register TagPrefix="telerik" Namespace="Telerik.Workflow.WebControls" Assembly="Telerik.Workflow" %>
    • <telerik:WorkflowMenu ID="workflowMenu" runat="server" />
I attached the correct zip files to this request. Your Telerik points have been updated. If you find any other problems, let me know.

    Kind regards,
