    Hi,

I am using ContentView to display a list of generic content items. I want the list to work exactly like the BlogPosts "List & Item" presentation mode with only the name appearing on the list page and the name and content appearing on the item page.

I have gotten the "List & Item" mode to work using the developer manual, but I can't figure out the settings required to remove the unnecessary content (i.e. comments, social bookmarks, posted by, full content link, etc.) from both the list and item views. Is it possible?

    Thanks,
    Isabelle

    Hello Isabelle,

The easiest way to do this is mapping the external templates

and hide the controls you do not want to see from there.

Another option is creating a custom control that inherits from ContentView. Then you have to override SetItemMetadata and SetSingleItemContent methods of the base class from where you could access the template controls and hide them by using public properties. This will allow you to work with the control designer instead of hiding/showing the properties from the template

The third option is creating a custom control designer

Are you saying there is no way to edit the layout from the ContentView control? Or just that these options are easier?

    Hello Isabelle,

I am not saying that there is no way.  There are three  suggestions that explain how to hide the controls from the template. Have you read my post?

Yes, of course, I read your post.  You suggested mapping the control or creating a custom control. I'm asking if there is anyway to edit these settings within the default ContentView control. Did you read my post?
