I am trying to play videos (WMV) from both a video library and a custom library, but all I get is the video player control.  No content is displayed when I press play.

I do get a page error...

    Hi Detroitj,

Could you try to replicate the issue with one of the built in wmv files that comes with Windows installation.

Here is a list with the reasons for the error you get. It is possible that the video file itself is not properly encoded and it is corrupted.

    All the best,

I don't think it is a corrupt video issue.  If I download the video from the Sitefinity Library, it plays fine in Windows Media Player.  I also tried the sample video "Wildlife.wmv" that was included with Windows 7 and it did not play through the site either.

    Hello Detroitj,

Where did you upload the video - local system, Viddler or Amazon S3? Can you check whether the xap file is loaded properly observing the HTTP request and response. Is  it possible to attach the video somewhere, so I can try it locally?

The videos are being saved locally.  We are not using any external service.  I would be glad to check the request & response if you could advise me how.  Here is the sample video that came with Win7.

    http://us.supplypointsystems.org/jpr/wildlife.wmv

The URL is not part of our Sitefinity install.

    Hello Detroitj,

I am not able to replicate any issues with playing wmv files in Sitefinity . You can give a try on our demo website . If you want you can open a support ticket and send the project and its database to us.
