    Hi

I have created new project in Sitefinity4.0, it is creating project successfully, but it is not creating Virtual Directory in IIS, as Sitefinity3.7 does. Please let me know whether Sitefinity4.0 is not supporting to create Virtual directory at the time of project creation or it is a bug. do I have to create Virtual directory in IIS manually? if yes please let me know the steps I have to follow to create it and associate it with project manager.

    Regards
    Rashmi

    Hello Rashmi,

The ProjectManager of Sitefinity uses Cassini which opens in a random port. Our ProjectManager server does not use IIS. The error you are getting is because you have added some custom handler in the project and it is not referenced now.

    hi Ivan

    Thanks for reply.
I was getting same assembly binding error in IIS also, but when I set enable 32 bit Application = true in Application pool the error gone.
can we set Enable 32 bit Applications true in Cassini web server. if yes, how I can do that?

    Thanks
    Rashmi

    Hi Rashmi,

The Cassini runs in 32 bit mode. You can find the source code for  dev servers at http://cassinidev.codeplex.com if you need to compile under 64 mode.

    hi Ivan

Please let me know which table in Sitefinity 4.0, are you using in place of “sf_CmsControlProperty”.

“sf_CmsControlProperty” was the table used in Sitefinity3.7.

    Thanks

    Hi  Ivan,

Thanks, It helped me a lot. Please do one more favor for me, can you tell me from which database table Sitefinity4.0 gets connection string, if it is not in table then is it in web config file? if yes then where that web config file located, because the web config file that I have, I changed its connections string, but Sitefinity 4.0 still try to connect with some other connection string (that connection string is for that database that i had used for restoring my new DB).

Please tell me from where sitefinity 4.0 is trying to establish connection with database. It's very important for me.

    Thanks
    Rashmi

    Hello Rashmi,

The connection string is stored in App_Data/Sitefinity/Configuration/DataConfig.config

    Hi Ivan

Thanks, It really helped me a lot. Now my website get loaded, but I am facing one more problem, when I browse my site from IIS, Partial page get load (ie home Page), but if I login to sitefinity and then load page, the complete page get load. I want that page should get load completely whenever I browse it. It should not be mandatory to login to sitefinity to view complete page.

Please guide me, if am missing somthing.

    Thanks
    Rashmi

    Hi Rashmi,

Most probably there are some permissions set over the layout element or the widget and this is why you see the content when logged in, but not when you are an anonymous user.

    Hi Sham,

Try granting anonymous as well. This is a permission issue.

    Best wishes,

    Hello Rashmi,

I am not able to replicate the issue locally if the the permissions are set to Everyone or Anonymous. Please break the inheritance as well.
