    Hi

    Currently we have 1 server running around 7 different websites - each with it's own domain.

    I understand that we'd have to purchase a license for each domain, but would sitefinity have to be installed 7 times?

    Can sitefinity be installed on 2 servers such that the website is available on one machine, and the administration is done on the second one, inside our network.
    So ...
     - Install on both servers, have them looking at the same database.
     - On the world-visible server, delete the /sitefinity folder

    As it's installed twice for the one domain would this affect licensing in any way?

    Thanks
     Rob

    Hello web,

    Can sitefinity be installed on 2 servers such that the website is available on one machine, and the administration is done on the second one, inside our network.

    You can do it. First install the both websites that will use the same database. You can create additional providers or change the applicationName attribute for a given module so that you will be able to have shared and not shared items. You can also disable admin users from certain applications by deleting users from the web.config .

    <security defaultProvider="DefaultSecurityProvider" cmsProvidersName="Sitefinity">
          <roles>
            <clear />
            <add name="Administrators" permission="Unrestricted" />
            <add name="PublicUsers" permission="None" />
          </roles>
           ....
    </security>

    Let us know if there is anything else that we can do for you.

    Kind regards,
    Ivan Dimitrov
