    Hi,

Is it possible to deploy Sitefinity 3.7 as a .NET 4.0 website? I have assemblies for the logic of my controls, written in .NET 4.0 C#, and can't deploy as it breaks the site.

    Please advise.

    Thanks

    Hi G S S,

There are two builds for 3.x versions - one against .NET Framework 2.0 and another against .NET Framework 3.5.

Sitefinity version 4.0 will support .NET Framework 3.5 and .NET 4.0
    .

    Best wishes,

Could you confirm if there is a way to use a .NET 4.0 assembly in the current CMS?

    Thanks

    Hello G S S,

We have only the above mentioned builds. If you have a custom dlls build against 4.0 there should not be a problem to use them.

    Hi,

We hoped that there should not be a problem when we set-up Sitefinity website to run as .NET 4 website, but that is not the case so far.

Our custom build controls are running just fine, but all build-in Sitefinity controls (‘Generic Content’, ‘Lists’, etc.) generate the following error:

“Object reference not set to an instance of an object.”

(And our scenario has nothing to do with the following:
    http://www.sitefinity.com/support/forums/sitefinity-3-x/bugs-issues/216577-object-reference-not-set-to-an-instance-of-an-object.aspx)

Any idea what might cause the error and how to fix it?

    Thanks!

    Hello Chris Childs,

Sitefinity 3.x does not support .NET Framework 4.0. You can use 3.5 and 2.0 builds only.
