In the past, Telerik was able to tell me how to exclude Blog data from our deployment procedure: http://www.sitefinity.com/devnet/forums/sitefinity-3-x/deployment/exclude-blogs-from-deployment.aspx

Can you please tell me how to exclude indexes? The index I have is currently set up in Administration > Services and indexes our Blogs.

To recap from the previous thread:
We have a development and production environment. We make all normal updates in development, then deploy to production using a database comparison tool (RedGate) to transfer all of the database data. The exception is that we make all of our Blog changes in production, and never in development, so we exclude development Blog data during deployment to prevent the Blog data in production from being overwritten.

We now face this same situation with indexes. The Blog indexes in production are being overwritten by the ones in development. We need to preserve the production indexes during deployment.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Matthew,

The search data is stored in App_Data/Search folder. Generally you do not have to override the files in Search folder which will keep your index the same.
