I have been working with Sitefinity for several months now and I have an outstanding license issue that I just haven’t found an answer to.  I keep getting the “You are running a trial version of Sitefinity 3.6” message in our staging environment even though I have a license file installed.

Everything works find on my localhost and when I push to production, but I keep getting the message in our staging environment.

An example of our staging environment is as follows:

    http://stage-Sitefinity.Test.com

Where “Test” is replaced with our company name.

I guess I am just wondering if I need to generate the key in a different way to work with our staging environment.

    Thank you,
    Scott

    Hi Scott,

The trial message does not appear on localhost. The development server should be accessed by IP, thus the trial message should not be visible. Since the license is generated per domain name, it can be used properly only on your production server and its subdomains.

You can gather more information about the LicenseFile.xml( that collects data for your key) from our UserManual, Licensing section.

If you need further assistance in this matter, write back to us.

    Sincerely yours,
