    Hi,

I'm evaluating Telerik Sitefinity CMS solution for a customer, before I recommend I'd like understand if the following scenarios are possible with the product.

    1. Can my client have multiple websites(www.a.com, www.b.com) hosted in one instance of Sitefinity?
    2. If yes, most importantly, can they have one cms backend system that can be used to update content in both www.a.com and www.b.com sites? In other words, there is one place they login to cms and can choose, to update the content in both places? It does not have to be same content appearing both places, but the abillity to choose which site's content to update. Hope this makes sense
    3. Can I integrate custom authentcation, from their CRM systems to bring in roles and have permissions for content in SF work accordingly.

Thank you for time and I'm hoping to recommend SF.

    Hi Vik Mann,

    1. Can my client have multiple websites(www.a.com, www.b.com) hosted in one instance of Sitefinity?

It is not possible to have one instance of Sitefinity under several domain names. Also the license key us generated per domain name so that you will be charged for each one. Otherwise you will get a trial messages for each domain that does not have a key.

    2. If yes, most importantly, can they have one cms backend system that can be used to update content in both www.a.com and www.b.com sites? In other words, there is one place they login to cms and can choose, to update the content in both places? This could be possible if you have several providers. Let's say you have two websites - A and B. In website A you can add additional connection string to website B. Then you can add several providers - GenericContent, News, Blogs, Events, Images and Documents which use B's connectionString. This will allow you to manage the content for website B through A's User Interface.

    3. Can I integrate custom authentcation, from their CRM systems to bring in roles and have permissions for content in SF work accordingly.

We use ASP.NET Membership, Role and Profile providers. If your systems security is .net based it will be easy to migrate the users or just use your current implementation ( if you are using providers or AD)

Let us know if there is anything else that we can do for you.

    Sincerely yours,
