Is there any facility in Sitefinity to automatically send error messages (timeouts, data rendering errors, etc) to an administrator email account?

    Hi Andy,

There is a special event, which handles all site errors. You may implement your logic there. The event is Application_Error, and you may find it in the global.asax file.

    Kind regards,

Sure. OK. But there's no out-of-the-box config settings. No problem.
    Maybe for the future, eh?

    Hi Andy,

We have it logged in our feature requests list for some time now, and it seems we will definitely have to raise its priority for implementing it.

the healthmonitoring section of web.config allows you to configure the  System.Web.Management.SimpleMailWebEventProvider that can send a basic email (basically the exception report) via email on any generic unhandled exception. It's not sitefinity specific but it can help you to troubleshoot errors affecting the system

    here's a thread with more info: http://aspnet.4guysfromrolla.com/demos/printPage.aspx?path=/articles/032107-1.aspx

(note that I don't believe this won't work in medium trust)
