    When attempting to Search I am returned the following error...

    Lock obtain timed out: SimpleFSLock@E:\Websites\Websitename\App_Data\Search\Search-Index\Index\write.lock


    The AD account the site is running as has write permissions to the Index folder.

    Also the Event log shows the following error...

    Event Type:        Error

    Event Source: ASP.NET 2.0.50727.0

    Event Category: Web Event

    Event ID: 1301

    Date: 8/30/2010

    Time: 12:13:28 PM

    User: N/A

    Computer: xxxxx

    Description:

    The following exception was thrown by the web event provider 'Simple Web Event Provider' in the application '/' (in an application lifetime a maximum of one exception will be logged per provider instance):

     

    System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'E:\Websites\xxxxxxx\App_Data\sitefinity.log' is denied.

    Hi Ivan, I reviewed this post previously, have -re-created the Index and still it persists!

    Hi Alex,

    The file has been locked and it cannot be released - reasons: described in the other post.

    Second error is that the ASP.NET /NETWORK SERVICE or your Identity account does not have access over  sitefinity.log and there is an error that cannot be written there. By default the worker process has read/write access over App_Data.
