    Hi all,

I have finally purchased Sitefinity whup whup..

OK question I have Sitefinity 3.7 SP1 Community installed on a local Server. So what I would like to do is keep this site but transfer all the data & installed modules over to our new Sitefinity 3.7 SP3 full version.

The remote server also has Sitefinity Community 3.7 SP1 installed using the Web Platform Installer so is there a way of upgrading the Community edition to a full version without using the Telerik Installer. ie just copy over dll's or something.

At present I have a local host entry on the remote server > dev.sitefinity.ecrm which I plan to upgrade to a domain once we are ready to go live. This is working great for me as the client can remote desktop in a get a feel for the CMS while still allowing me to work on the site.

    Hi Richard Warner,

The only way to upgrade the Community Edition website is by applying the patch for the standard Edition. The upgrades cannot be performed through the installer. There are functional differences between the Standard and Community editions. There are differences in the templates that are exposed in the project.

You can find more detailed information about how to upgrade a project at our Upgrade Instructions. If you need only the data of your current project you can export it and import it into another project. You can do this from Administration >> Tools >> Export
