    Hi Guys,

    In IE7 and in IE6, I have an anchor inside of an li which has a background image in it. When you mouse over these links, the backagound images go missing in these browsers. Any ideas as to why this would happen?

    Here's an example (IE7 and IE6):

    Many thanks,

    James

    I have tried replicating this issue on a smaller scale but I do not get the same bug:

    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

    <head>
        <title></title>
        <link href="css/ie7_li_a_bug.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    </head>
    <body>
        <ul>
            <li>List item 1</li>
            <li>List item 2</li>
            <li>List item 3</li>
            <li><a href="#">List item 4</a></li>
        </ul>
    </body>
    </html>

    ul li
    {
        display:block;
        background-image:url(../Images/bullet.gif);
        background-repeat:no-repeat;
        padding-left:10px;
        background-position: left 6px;
        list-style: none;
        list-style-position:outside;
        padding-left:13px;
    }

    Any ideas?

    I've had another look at this again in that content page I sent and it seems that image comes and goes randomly with the scrollbar if I scoll up and down.

    ??? :-/

    Thanks

    Hello James,

    Sorry for the late reply. Please add the CSS rule from below to http://bit.ly/d8GSC4. That should do the trick.

    .columnLayout1 ul li, .columnLayout2 ul li, .columnLayout3 ul li, .columnLayout4 ul li
    {
    position: relative;
    }

    Please let us know if you need further help.

    Best wishes,

    Hi Katia,

    Thanks for replying to me on this, I will give it a bash and get back to you.

    Could I please ask you to replace the link you just posted with this BITLY link:

    http://bit.ly/d8GSC4

    Our client found their website in one of the posts on Sitefinity and asked that we remove it.

    If I can make a suggestion? Could you please implement Bitly-like functionality into the forums so that the links to client sites don't show and google picks them up? Would be a nice feature to have ;)

    Thanks again!

    James

    Hi Katia,

    Thanks for changing that link for me :)

    I have now added the position relative to the css class but the problem it seems persists. Most notably the bullets appear when the site first loads but when you use the scrollbars off the page, they go missing.

    Many thanks,
    James

    Something else I just noticed is that when I use the developer toolbar to select that <a> tag and the background image was off in the <li>, it then reappears.

    Hello James,

    Have you deleted browser cache and temporary internet files? I couldn't reproduce the problem this time. Please send a screenshot of the issues so I am sure we talk about the same thing. I've tried IE 6 and 7.

    All the best,
