    Since upgrading to 3.5, my menu template is having style problems.  It seems to be trying to use an embedded style and it overwrites my styles.  I have tried using EnableEmbeddedSkins="False" in the control (Navigation35\SiteMenu.ascx) and in RadMenu.skin in my template folder.  I have confirmed that the page is using the new Navigation35\SiteMenu.ascx control.

    Do I have to use EnableEmbeddedSkins="False" somewhere else?  Any ideas appreciated!

    argh I've had to deal with this one too, i know telerik is always improving but some of these changes really break my stuff :( but i know it's for the best :)

    one thing I can recommend that helped me was to use the firebug addon for firefox to locate the stylesheet that is breaking the design. if it is embedded and refuses to go away, you can redefine the offending style with your attributes then add !important so that it forces an override of the embedded style.

    I hope this was helpful! i'm still trying to figure these things out myself :)

    Yeah, Firebug has been a godsend.  At this point I've managed to work around the issue in css. Mostly I want to avoid unnecessary calls to the web server (the extra axd hits).

    I didn't know about the !important tag.  I think I can work without it this time around, but it looks like a handy tag to keep in my bag for future needs.  Thanks.

    I just posted another thread with a similar question when I came across this thread.

    There is only 1 style that is causing me problems that refuses to override.  I tried the !important value, but to no avail.

    .RadPanelBar .rpRootGroup{
        clear:!important;
    }

    I'm by no means a CSS guru - I'm intermediate at best.  Michael, what did you do to override the styles in your menu?

    Thank you.

    i'm not entirely sure what you're attempting to override and how, but the !important tag is a modifier to the style as a whole, and not an actual attribute. so for clear: you might use it like this:

    .RadPanelBar .rpRootGroup{
    clear: none !important;
    }

    or

    .RadPanelBar .rpRootGroup{
    clear: left !important;
    }

    or any other valid value for clear.

    I hope this was helpful
