I've created several new themes, a new master and all is well for most of the rendering.  Except for the menus and news displays.   For menus, I've used the tab strips, which I want to change the background colors and fonts, etc.  I cannot find which CSS file controls it.  I've tried several, all with no luck.  For the news I wanted to reduce the headline text.  I can change the color, but not the size.

Is there a formula that tells one where the currently used style sheet is, so that I can copy it and place that code into my theme css file..   I hate the fact that i need to guess at which css file is controling an item display.

Is there a document which details and explains the order of css usage.

    Hi Rick,

You can add the css classes declaration directly in the control template ~/Sitefinity/UserControls/Navigation35/SiteTabstrip.ascx ( this is the default SiteTabStrip menu). Another option is crating a custom skin. Please take a look at the following link to gather more information about skin selectors http://www.telerik.com/help/aspnet-ajax/tab_appearancecssselectors.html.
