    Hi There,

We were able to add some custom files to the application using the following SiteFinity blog :
    http://www.sitefinitywatch.com/blog/09-01-15/Adding_Custom_Fields_to_Existing_Sitefinity_Modules.aspx

Now I want to add some of those fields to the standard news module page. Specifically the news item edit page.
But i can't seem to find the ascx or aspx for that matter. Where can I find those?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi John Heins,

You should map the external templates for desired view. For more information please take a look at this KB article.

    Hi Ivan,

Thanks for your reply. The article refers to MyClient.Net but that links seems to no longer work.

Also it feels like a lot of work to simply add 2 fields. We would still be using the basic functionality of the newsmodule.

The article also suggests that we would be able to add custom fields to existing modules and rebuilding is something different then adding in my book.

Isn't there a simpeler way to implement this?

    with kind regards,

    Hi John Heins,

After you are logged in to your Sitefinity account you need to download and map the external templates. There is no simpler way. The templates for all Generic Content based modules are embedded and each template that you want to modify needs to be mapped as external.

    I hope this helps.

    All the best,
